Try Hockey for Free dates are set for Summer of 2026!! THFF will start in August and run through October, leading into Rookie Fall Camp!! Registration for THFF will open at the end of June.

Thursday August 20, 2026 5:15 pm- 6:15 pm

Tuesday September 1, 2026 6:15 pm- 7:15 pm

Wednesday September 9, 2026 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Sunday September 27, 2026 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm

Sunday October 4, 2026 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

• Try hockey for free is intended for boys and girls aged 4 - 10 years old interested in giving hockey a try!

• Experience on ice skates is ideal, although, it is not necessary. However, your child will get the most out of Try Hockey if they come with some prior skating experience, even just being on the ice a few times during open skate. • Equipment to use for the clinic is available. And can be rented for continued use for rookie mite season!
• We will do our best to fit your player as close to their size as possible.
• If your player will be needing equipment, please be sure to arrive 1 hour prior to their first session to allow enough time for fitting.

• During Try Hockey, Shakopee Youth Hockey Association coaches will be on the ice and will lead the future hockey players through games and hockey drills. The focus of this time is to have FUN and experience hockey.
• Only safe sport certified SYHA coaches are allowed to be on the ice during this time, no parent volunteers.

• Parents, you get to sit back, relax and watch them fall in love with the sport.
